Rancho Mirage is located East of Palm Springs. For decades Rancho Mirage is known for its exclusive country clubs offering golf and exclusive access to the clubs. Then came the "bubble" time and the city expanded to the north with new subdivisions. These included middle class, more affordable housing in gated communities.

Rancho Mirage has one of the three main hospitals for the region : Eisenhower Medical Center.

The main change that happened is the opening, a few years ago, of "THE RIVER", the entertainment center located on Highway 111 offering restaurants and theaters. This centers attracts hundreds of people every day to the area.

Rancho Mirage, right in the center of the Valley, offers entertainment with the Agua Caliente Casino and THE RIVER .

Indian Wells is the home of the BNParibas tennis tournament and this brings to the area a lot of activiy and tourism.

It is a smaller city and the hotels are some of the largest in the valley. The city has a golf club recently refurbished and gives access to the residents who can play there at discounted price.

It is the upper end neighborhood of the valley. Most of the homes are in gated communities.

La Quinta is the further city to the south east that we consider a resort community.

La Quinta has also two sides : first is the business, shopping, schools,, family oriented side and second, the "resort" side with the country clubs and the GOLF communities such as PGA WEST.

When you look at the map of the area it is clear that part of the city is all green showing the presence of golf courses and the other part is residential communities.

The "family " part of La Quinta developed during the last 4 years not so much with golf but with the new homes in subdivisions built for the families catering to most of the valley.
